Halloween Candy Buyback
What's the scariest thing about Halloween for a pediatric dentist? CANDY! We know it's all part of the fun, but we also know what giant amounts of sugar can do to a someone's teeth, especially if that someone is just learning how to take care of them. To help cut down on the candy, we hold a Halloween Candy Buy Back at the office every year. Just bring your kids and their bags of Halloween goodies in and we'll pay them $1.00 per pound of candy! Dates will be posted on website each year so stay tuned! If you prefer, flyers are available at both office locations explaining the buyback.
The doctors and staff of Colorado Kids Pediatric Dentistry would like to thank everyone for their participation in our annual Halloween Candy Buy Back. Once again, it was a huge success, with collections exceeding 1700 pounds!
Safehouse Denver serves victims of domestic violence and their children through both an emergency shelter and a non-residential Counseling and Advocacy Center. All of the women, children and youth who come to SafeHouse Denver have access to a full range of bilingual programming, including individual counseling, group sessions, advocacy and safety planning. This Holiday season Colorado Kids Pediatric Dentistry was proud to be involved in donating many toys for the children in residence at Safehouse Denver. Next year we hope to make a much larger donation by holding a toy drive in both our office locations. Keep an eye out for an announcement letting you know how you can help us help them!
Toys for Tots
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
School Dental Program
Part of our job as pediatric dentists is to teach kids how to take care of their teeth, and to inspire them to do it regularly. Our office offers a lively presentation for school-age children that teaches them about dental care in an interactive, age-appropriate way with puppets and games and lively demonstrations. We also host school field trips at our office so young kids can get a fun, non-threatening, close-up look at a visit to the dentist. If you think you’d like to come visit us, or have us come to your school or your scout troop, please talk with your school administrator or troop leader and have them contact us to set up a time.
Give Kids A Smile
The doctors of Colorado Kids Pediatric Dentistry have been volunteering their services to Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) for many years. GKAS was started 10 years ago by the American Dental Association. It is the nation's largest proactive approach to help children from low income families with their dental needs, and to draw attention to the problems that many families face when trying to access basic dental care. GKAS takes place in every state, and Colorado is fortunate to boast one of the nation's success stories for this program. We are proud to serve the community by being involved in the GKAS Day!
